Was just going to do this and go braided lines. They make fittings to adapt factory connections to AN. Ended up pulling tank and going cell so will be running braided/AN setup.

You could just use a regular fuel line, that would be a cheaper route. Just need to make sure the clamps to hold it together are good. When I put a newer fuel tank in my 98, I did just that on the back side.

Stainless, aluminum, copper, whatever really.
Steel will always rust at some point unless you can protect it very well.
Or change to PTFE/Teflon lines and AN fittings etc

Nylon is very cheap and easy to use.
I just wouldnt trust the push fittings for a fuel system
If there are some proper compression type fittings that also support the hose from the inside then it can be a handy option
