Default Boost Reference FPR or not?

At what point do I need, or what's the reasoning behind a "boost reference" FPR?

Is there a certain WHP or boost level when this becomes necessary?

Or is it a good idea for ANY boosted application?

I don't boost reference my regulator. I don't see the need.
I figured out how much pressure I would need at peak power and just set my adjustable regulator to that amount. It idles very well with that much pressure on 80 lb injectors so I don't see any reason to boost/vacuum reference it.
