Default Flaring stock fuel line

I have made every attempt possible using the Mastercool hydraulic flaring tool to flare the original steel fuel lines with no success. I have tried to lubricate with WD-40 sanded down the tube and deburred the inside NO LUCK!! Only thing I can assume is that these lines are too tough to flare. Any other ideas are more than welcome.... and here are the failed results

I have one of those tools. NOT worth the $$. Seems to work w/ mild steel and AN/ 45*. Stainless = forget it. I found the dies do not grip the tube, and the tube slides. I had to surface the inner faces of the dies, so they would hold.
My bud has one...It leaks at the pump.
I've not tried the bubble flares. I have another tool for them, that works...Kinda.
We just switched to AN fittings.
