Default What is max hp for stock 2000 pump

changing cams and dont know if I will have time to install 255 walbro pump also before going to track this Sunday. I already have 400 rwhp with teh 222 c1 cam, going to the f13 cam and just curious what the avrage max hp you can get away with for a short while.

Say I get 430 rwhp , will the stock pump support it for a little while( races on this sunday)?

I've been told 400rw is safe, and 450rw is as far as you want to push it. I know of a few 470rw (+/- a few) combo's with the factory pump and larger injectors. But, who's to say how long the pump will last. Just start saving and shopping around for a better pump as a replacement for when it burns up. Kind of like keeping a spare differential and/or gear set around for the tiny 10-bolt

I went with the Racetronix PNP kit. Not cheap, but it's a simple install WITH an upgraded wiring harness for the higher output pump (directly connects it to the battery ) Considering pumps are voltage sensative, VD from the skimpy factory wiring could cause problems. No 'fabbing' or cutting up anything with it either. Just something to consider...

thanks , I already bought the walboro 255 but just not enough time to install it before Sunday. Going racing Sunday and just finished a fm13 cam install tonight but tomorrow is booked with the kids. I will only race it once with the new cam and stock fuel pump.

I wouldn't worry about it with such a short ragging
