Default questions on 98 metal to 99+ plastic tank conversion

1. i got the plastic tank used without the filler neck. i just got the neck from the dealer, do i need a third part(i.e. some type of coupler) to connect the neck to the tank? obviously i need something, any help would be appreciated.
2. there is another thread in this section asking about the different ohms for different years with the pump assembly. some people say it doesn't matter, others seem to think it does. any thoughts would be cool, i don't know jack about that stuff.
3. i'm guessing the evap cannister in the wheel well of my 98 comes out(replaced by the one on the plastic tank)?
for anyone that has done this conversion, is it pretty straight foward as far as hooking up the newer tank to the older plumbing?
thanks in advance for any help.

Somebody else was doing this swap, and found out that he needed to use the float arm and fuel gauge sending unit from the '98 to make his gas gauge work right.

Look in the parts wanted section, and you'll find his thread.

Do you have a decent fuel sock from your '98 setup that you want to sell? if so I need it.

actually,no, i had just replaced the stock pump/sock a thousand miles ago with a walbro and threw out the original(it was dirty) and the one that came with the walbro was different, i'm gonna try to sell the whole sending unit if possible.....

i'll check out the gauge thread, thanks...

i also found that the neck piece i was missing was just a tube that connects the filler neck to the tank, and two pipe clamps.......

thanks for the help
