Default NastyPerformance Race tanks- finished

We have finished building some race tanks. They are completed and tested and ready to fly. The tank eliminates the factory fuel pump assemble and use a custom fuel sender. They are completely baffled, sumped, have a 1/2" pipe feed and a 3/8" return. We can add customized bungs to add the fuel pump to the side of the tank for a clean install. I have several in stock so let me know if you need one.

Sumped race tank w fuel sender $529.99

Nates stuff is top notch, I have his intake, gastank, and valvecovers and everything is perfect.
BTW Nate you need to see what I did to your gas tank, My wheelie bars wouldnt clear it, so I had to do a little narrowing action, chopped 7 inches off both sides, now I have the only MINI-Nasty gastank in the world Hold about 5 gallons now

I've got one of Nate's tanks, the quality is superb. I need to talk to you about a custom sender though Nate. My gas gauge doesn't read. How is this custom sending unit different?

Fuel capacity in one of these tanks vs. a stocker? What about weight vs. a stock steel or plastic (dry)? Awful lot of coin to drop on one of those tanks, but I know what it's like to go through a fuel pump replacement when it dies on you in the middle of a parking lot and it sucks. Plus, no worry about getting down slightly below 1/2 or 1/4 tank, just that if it's a peanut size, it'll make me change my mind.

The sender is a complete different unit. I am not sure how we could incorperate it into the old tank without rewelding the top of your tank?

That is some great gas mileage.

So will the gas gauge on the stock gauge cluster still work?

Yes you just need to add the wire to the new sender.

Nifty, thanks. Forgive my ignorance, I've never built a fuel system like this before, but is this tank more oriented toward a drag racing vehicle or is it also appropriate for other applications? Simply put: what are the restrictions and drawbacks? The advantages are obvious.

I've got the stock sending unit and all that good junk in mine. I just left the whole assembly in there so I could use the sender. Is there something different that I don't know? Do I need a different sending unit?

I just finished one of these tanks and the quality is top notch We used a SLP loudmouth exhaust with no problem and it looks like you could use a reg. cat back.

Drake-It is good fro any racing it just adds the sump to pull fuel from the bottom with a larger inline pump. No disadvantage that I can see.

Armageddon-Your tank is fine the way it is. We just changed the sender to ease building and to eliminate the big bucket from the tank.

Dez- great to here it all went well your other pumps and stuff is on the way.

caindo- you are at the limit of your stock tank in the GTO already? What setup are you needing it for? Just need a sump? We have not been asked for one yet but I will look into it. If you are serious call me we will work something out.

Nate, maybe make some smaller ones (4-5 gallons filled) for the drag racers that would love to have a full sump without having to fill the normal sized tank up halfway to do it. Race gas is expensive

Ha Ha Ha! Tony you have a lot of cars and your worried about the one that would use the least amount of fuel and see little or no street time LOL! I guess there is always the weight saving factor? They do look great Nate!
