Default dropping the tank

I need to change out my fuel pump, and in order to do that, it involves dropping the exhaust, tank, and rear axle. Also involves removing the hind quarter panel, according to the chilton's manual. Has anyone else had to do this? If so, do you have any tips before I jump into this? Thanks

On his 97 he will. 99+ F-bodies had plastic tanks with removeable filler necks. The pre-99's all have metal tanks with the filler neck attached, and you do normally have to pull the rear end out.

I cut access holes all the time for people using an air nibbler. Very safe and fast.
