Fuel gauge acting weird after h/c swap?

Default Fuel gauge acting weird after h/c swap?

Hello yall i just did a h/c swap on my car and i noticed that the fuel gauge acts weird some times moves around is this normal?

Mine did that after upgrading to the walbro 340. It would say half tank, then drop to a qtr tank, then go back up, etc. I even an it out of gas once since it said i had a qtr tank and it dropped within 2 secs to empty. It isnt from your upgrade- the 98s have a notorious problem with the float. If you have an ez access panel like I do, open your tank and check the float for constrictions. Sometimes the wires get in the way, or the track is dirty.

i haven't changed any thing "fuel related" but the gauge has jumped around since we drove it off the lot, i have a 98. but you gotta consider how flat the tank if and wide so it's gonna vary by elevation and angle, don't worry to much.the best thing to do is just keep track of your average milage on your tank and make sure you're not gonna run empty. (my tank gets about 230 miles to the tank)

Possible the cam that you swapped is playing games with the fuel pressure regulator- since its vacuum controlled..
