Default Fuel rail question

My dad is adding a LS2 intake and fuel rail to his LS6 engine in his 02 Z28, I was wondering if the fuel rail damper off the LS1 and LS6 style fuel rail is needed to be added to the LS2 fuel rail or would you just bolt the LS2 fuel rail on without trying to put the damper into the equation that is what I thought should happen is you just bolt the LS2 fuel rail onto the LS2 intake and bolt it up and go in both cases the regulator is in the tank so the fuel is still regulated or will it cause any problem without the damper as far as the different banks not getting the same amount of fuel.
