Default Octane question

Hey guys today i made the mistake of accidentally putting 87 instead of 93 into the car just wondering if it would have the same effect if i put a bottle of octane booster into the car.

Better than draining the tank some 104 will get you by just don't floor the car or rump on it to keep it out of detonation

Like wilddawg mentioned. Put some octane booster like 104 in it, and drive it like grandma until you get all that gas out then fill it up with 91 or better.

Peace,
Craig.

If you filled it up do what they said. If you only have half or so, top it off with the good stuff.

Octane booster will not help. Drive like a granny untill you can put some good gas in it. Run the tank low to get it all out.

Yes it will help. I've seen it first hand on the dyno at MTI. This one guy came in for headers and custom tune. He was pinging all over the rpm's. Jayson (owner of MTI) asked him what gas he used, he said 87...doh!

Unfortunately he had a full tank of that crappy 87, so Jayson walked next door to Autozone and bought 104 octane booster and dumped it in and "shook" the rear end a little on the dyno to mix the gas.
It did alot better on the dyno, but Jayson said to run it out and then bring it back when he has 93 in it.

So YES it does help. May not be as good as a full tank of 93, but I've seen the dyno show that it helped....some.

Peace,
Craig.
