loud whining noise coming from gas tank????? loud whining noise coming from gas tank and the car cuts out at half throttal or more.....fuel pump going out?????? 123,000 miles on the OD

well, all i know is that aftermarket fuel pumps make a whining noise sometimes, and i think failing Fuel pumps will make that noise your talking about.
Id get some other opinions on it though. Id also change the fuel filter first if you havent done so.

No doubt about it your pump is about to quit...I can almost guarantee you the pump inlet screen is plugged. The pump will soon burn itself up and quit altogether. Seen it and heard it many times.

mines doing the same loud whinning sound and the dealership mehanic said i need to change my fuel pump they said to change it the rear suspension has to be dropped - is this true or is there an easier way to get to the fuel pump??
