Default Are 42 lb Delphi's too big

I have a H/C, 90/90 on a stock bottom end. I will be running a 232 236 cam with this if it makes much of a difference. Are the 42 Delphi's too big, will I have idle problems. The reason that I would go with them is thinking I will upgrade to a 402 or larger at a latter date. I have also heard that the Delphi's are easier to tune?
Is this because of the disc system over the pin?

You should have no idle issues.. FWIW I run a set of 60# on a ZO6 with a stock cam and heads... no issues with idle.

Used to have 42# on the car.. no issues either.

You will not have the kind of problems until you get into the 96 and 160# injectors, even then with the technology out there.. should not be an issue.

Decide how much power you ultimately want to make, buy the right size injector.. tuning for idle should be no problem.

Actually, I've always heard completely the opposite - the Delphi injectors are harder to tune than the SVO's.

Obviously Delphi post the advantages to using their disc style vs. the SVO pintle style which is better fuel control and cleaner operation with no fouling.

I feel that either style injector is fine and that most people that say tuning one over the other is easier is basically because that is what they are used to - unless some reputable tuner can post up and tell us all any concrete reasons why one is better than the other...

WS6FTA00, what were the experiences you had that led you to use the Ford over the Lucas?

although i still have issues with the fords keeping me too rich on decel, they act great at idle. i have had idle issues with the others. they made the idle very jumpy and rich. now i did put a set on my friends and tuned it and it was ok besides being rich at idle. only problem i think of the 42#ers is that it may be a little more than i need right now, but plan on more power in the future so i only wanted to spend the money one time

So you have had issues with pretty much all the injectors you've tried based on that, correct?

If so, why do you still recommend the SVOs over the Lucas's considering you're still having tuning issues?

the only tuning issues i have is i dont demand enough fuel down low (only on decel it goes rich, like if you are 2000 rpm and slowing down in a manual) as of right now. the injectors are fine just pump a little more fuel than i need in low map low rpm areas. like i said im going to be making more power in the future so i only wanted to do this one time. i think the 460 rwhp range they would be totally fine.

also, these run a lot leaner (in the rich areas i talk about) than lucas injectors, they dont go to as low a pulse width, at least from what i have seen. make sense?

No personal experience with either, but my buddy just picked up a set of FMS 42#ers for 269.00 plus shipping. Reason enough?

Delphi/Lucas are the same price from Harris Speed Works. You shouldn't base your decision simply on price alone. I personally like the Delphi/Lucas better thand the FMS/Bosch. I have never had a tuning issue with them.

i guess it just depends how the car reacts, my idle woul dmove around about 150-200 rpms with those injectors in there once it leaned out to where it should be at idle. i put these same injectors in my friends car and put my old settings in his tune and he has no problem, quite odd
