Default Matched Injector Question

I am looking into the SVO 42# injectors (M9593F302) and I came across SVO 39# matched injectors (FMS-M-9593-M394). Is there an advantage to mathed versus unmatched?

matched = more consistant fuelingfor all cylinders, I believe the goin rate is 8 injectors within 2% percent of each other, mass produced injectors could have up to 12%variance in flow (the numbers may be skewed a little but you get the idea)

Ford Racing (SVO) Injectors are available as matched sets in the following sizes : 24,30,42,23,39. Note the rating is obtained at only 40psi differential.

Here's what they say about Matching:
" Ford Racing has flowed a large quantity of injectors, and sorted and matched injectors with similar flow rates. These injectors are then packaged in sets. The end result is fuel injector sets with very small variations in flow. Typical production injectors can vary as much as 6-7%. These kits vary less than 1%, but typically vary less than .5%. The result is improved fuel control and optimized performance, drivability and economy. These injectors are attractively priced and cannot be duplicated for the price."

So basically they have poor quality control or very loose tolerances.. to save some$$ and then they charge more for when they sort them into sets... sorting is a production nightmare but if you can charge more for it then it pays off and in this case it does for them.I've seen this eleventy billion times. Normally i cant propose a new part unless it can be manufactured WITHOUT sorting.

What is the difference between EV6 and EV1 style injectors? I noticed the matched 39# injectors are a lot cheaper than the matched 42# injectors, but the 39's are EV6 style.....different than the 30 and 42's which are EV1 style. Does that mean they are not compatible with LSX based motors?

Great Question.
It looks like some of the EV6 style sets include mini-harness connectors to adapt to EV1 style. But not the 39ers. ??????

Go to this link (if you got an Adobe viewer) and you can view diagrams, dimensions, part numbers, descriptions of all the SVO injectors. It shows the diff between EV1 and EV6 in dimensional drawings.
Injectors are on Page 115....which actually views as page 117.

Are yours matched or just off the shelf injectors? Are there advantages/disadvantages to the SVO(Bosch)?
