Injector advice -H/C + FAST 90
I was looking for some advice on if you guys think I might be running out of injector (I know its probably be asked a thousand times, but the search feature is limited right now).
Right now I'm running bolt-ons + a T1 cam (.558/221) and AFR 205s. I made about 420whp (numbers in sig) on the dyno last year. This winter I'm adding a FAST 90 setup ported by Tony Mamo, and also fabbing up some off-road pipes to replace the cats on my headers. I figure I should probably be around the 430-440 rwhp mark afterwards. Still have the stock '01 28.8# injectors. Do you guys think I might need to upgrade? Last I looked into it was 2-3 years ago, and most felt the 28.8s were good for ~450rwhp without over extending them. But now some have hinted upgrades are needed for most H/C setups.
If so what do you recommend? The SVO 30s ok?
And finally, would it be detrimental to install the injectors, and drive 1 and a 1/2 hours to get tuned - driving on the larger injectors without a retune for a bit? Or would it be a safer idea to wait and pop them in once I got to the tuner?
Thanks

lets take the guess work out of the equation- change the SVO 30# injectors on site and do the tune. While doing the tune check the duty cycle on the injectors. The SVO 30#s flow more than 30# at our high fuel pressures. Check your duty cycle to be sure.
I have heard of people driving on injectors without the proper tuning. My tuner didn't recommend it. But hey- some people get away with it.

I also recommened you go with some 42's if you spray the car or drop 402 in it.Nice setup man car is going to haul ***.I would also wait till your at the shop where you are going to get the tune to throw the new injectors in.
