Default Fuel question

Ok below is a pic of my inline pump and my 99 corvette fuel filter. Now my question is u see how I have the T before my inline pump is that a good thing or a bad thing. I didnt know what else to do to get the fuel back to the tank. There is another line coming out of the tank but thats my breather for the tank. O yeah I forgot to mention that Im putting this in a 80 Trans am. ur opinions would be greatly appreciated.

That should work..or you could just run the return line all the way bact to the tank...

You'll be recirculating hot fuel back into the inlet of the pump. That's not good. Get a new tank and weld in a return line fitting.

That's not a good idea as the tank needs to breathe, the line hooks to the charcoal cannister. The regulator really needs to have its own dedicated return line back to the tank.

Basically if I run what I have now will just burn up my pump wont it? Or can I T it off in front of the inline pump or is that still a bad idea?
