87 vs 93 for emmisions
Well, I failed emmisions the first go around so I changed a few things but I dont want to dick around with failing again. I have heard that 87 burns cleaner than 93. Is this true? If so, I plan on running the car clear out of 93 and then have a jug of a little 87 with some 'Guranteed to Pass' mixed in and see how the car does.

It will burn faster, so more completely. Might be a good
thing depending on what your trouble spots are. Good for
HC which is generally incomplete combustion. You also
want to take advantage of little tricks like changing oil
immediately before (make it a thick grade, if you burn any
because oil is hard to crack and will raise HC a lot if you
use much of it), maybe go in by way of the highway
where you can do some sustained medium-high RPM
cruising to get everything warmed up, etc. A can of
Dry-Gas might also help you out, lean you out slightly,
if you have a CO problem.
Lot of info on the Web about emissions test strategies.

That "guranteed to pass" stuff is worthless, spend your money on a set of new plugs and wires, and make sure your car is nice and hot before you go in. LT1s seem to have alot of trouble passing, so don't take it to hard if it fails again. I've never heard about the octane thing, but since an LT1 has a knock sensor it will retard the timming right? Somehow I dont think thats going to help you out much.

Also, the car is 100% stock.
