fuel level float adjustment
My fuel pump failed shortly after I got the car (95 Z28). I had it towed to a garage instead of my home and allowed them to replace the pump. After the first tank of gas I realized the fuel gauge was/is now wrong. AFAIK I need to adjust the float to get the gauge to read correctly as it runs out of gas at 1/8 tank.
Could I just bend the float rod UP-wards to make the reading more correct or is there some other way of doing this? I realize I shouldn't run the tank below 1/4 but things happen and I don't want to run out of gas again because the tank shows more fuel than is actually in there. Thanks.
