Default racetronix pump install problem

Im working on a buddys 01 camaro that he bought a short time ago. We got a 99+ racetronix kit for it when i pulled the tank down I found out and it already has a walbro 255 and the bottom of the plastic all cut away. does anyone know if this will effect the racetronix pump?

thanks for the help

cutting out of the bottom of the bucket, i heard is for gas to get into faster cause they said that the old walbros wouldnt get the gas fast enough in the bucket which would cause failure. you might have to get a new bucket or stick with the same pump he already has in it, which fuel pump did you buy the direct fit?

exactly, to make the 255 fit you have to hack up the fuel bucket. his bucket has none of what you see in this picture

the racetronix is a walbro pump but its a 270 and it fits in the stock location.. so i guess ill have to find a stock pump housing..

they say that with the direct fit it just goes right down in it,you bend the filter in their also. you leave the other filter on the bottom of the bucket also
