T top well pump mount?

T top well pump mount? I have been browsing the forum looking for a place to mount my A1000 pump. I have looked at the pictures of people that mount it under the car but all the ones I have seen don't show clearances with the exaust on. I was wondering if there was any reason not to mount the pump in the T top well since it is close to and lower than the tank. therefor gravity feeding the pump and shielding the pump from alot of heat. I am not concerned about the noise the pump would make. Any reason NOT to mount it like this?

My buddy has his A1000 pump mounted to the bottum of his T Top well in his 87 GTA. No clearance issuse what so ever but it is noisy.
Can't really see it in the picture but it is right below the license plate. I can check at home later to see if I have any beter pics

Pictures would be great, I want to mount it on the inside to keep it cool and easily acessible. I figure I can weld a plate over the top with an acess plate for safety
