Default Fake Walbros

Did a quick search and didn't see that this had been posted before.

Looks like there is a Chinese company aggressively marketing fake Walbro pumps. Might be old news but it's the first I've heard of it at this level so others might benefit.

That is so damn screwed up. I wish Bush and congress would do something about the aggressive forgery market China is building/already has.

At least Mexico's knock-offs don't copy the insignia 100% correctly (most of the time).

Well i've ordered in the outdoor power portion of walboro for years thru my hardware store with our outdoor program. In our recent outdoor power equipment magazine (OPE) their was a write up on how walboro recently just sold out to a chineese company. I hope the auto branch didn't but i'm sure if the outdoor power side was bought out then the auto branch was too.

I read an article in a chevy mag about counterfeit parts once before. It talked about heads, intakes, etc being made in china. I had no idea about the pumps though.. I guess you gotta buy from a quality salesman.

I bought mine from EPP and Bob confirmed and reenforced the fact that they only buy directly from Walbro. I got my pumps today and although to the layman it would be hard to tell, they look like quality Walbro pieces. They also had some of the best pricing on them as well.

I saw some 4-2-1 headers made from China for a 4 cylinder.

They were horrible each and every pipe flowed directly into it each other, all three 2-1 connections looked like T's. The welds were crap as well.

I felt so sorry for one guy I saw buy those after he posted the pics up. He was so proud of his "deal" I actually told him "they sure look like they make good power." Then I just unsubscribed to the thread made a mental note of his name then never spoke to him again.

I can't stand fake Chinese crap undermining what little manufacturing capability the US still has left.
