Hardlines from tank to engine compartment - I would assume that the hose lengths on either end (tank to hardline & hardline to rails) has same ID as corresponding hardline.

Here are the specs on the actual connections at the sending unit.

LS1 F-body (plastic) supply & return BOTH 3/8"
LS1 '98 F-body (steel tank) 3/8" supply & 5/16" return
LT1 3/8" supply & 5/16" return

LS1 truck 3/8" supply & 5/16" return.

These are the actual tank connections that I just measured on units being built in the shop.

Hope this helps.

LS1 F-body (plastic) supply & return BOTH 3/8"
Funny thing is, I have a 2000 with plastic tank - the hard lines that terminate in engine bay are:

3/8" Feed
5/16" Return (Not really a return though since this is a returnless system)

Don't know what they are at the sending unit, but why would the hardlines change size from front to rear of car?

I noticed on my 99 plastic bucket, that the feed & return connections on the bucket are the same size, 3/8" od. The lines themselves that attaching to the fittings are 3/8" for the feed, and 5/16" for the return, although the o-ring connections are both the same size. I have the cut-off lines beside me right now.

In short: O-ring connections=same size 3/8", Feed line=3/8", Return line=5/16". Hope this helps.

well i needed to know that actual tank sizes...as long as they are the same on a lt1 and a 98, then i can use 98 lines...instead of making a fuel system

Well, I cut my fuel access door last nite for Walbro install - and indeed both the lines coming off the top of the fuel bucket are 3/8" (use the GM quick disconnect method)

But the hardlines that terminate at the rear of the car that the flexible lines from the fuel bucket connect to are 3/8" and 5/16" as mentioned before.

If your running all new lines from front to rear - guess you could just keep them 3/8" all the way - don't know why the factory changed line sizes midstream...
