Default Fuel coming out of gas tank, will not fill up?

This is wierd and I need some help. I go to fill up my car because it is on E. The fuel will not go in, it just keeps coming out. I then stick a rod down the filler neck and at the bottem there seems to be some type of flap because when I pushed on it fuel came gushing out. It had alot of pressure on it keeping it closed. Anybody have an idea of what is wrong with my car?
thanks, in advance.

Sounds like a problem with your EVAP system. System not venting correctly. Did you have a SES light on. Might point you in the correct direction, ie bad vent solenoid.
That or just a sticking check valve in the lower portion of the filler neck.

thanks, 618Hawk. That was what the problem was. I found it about 9:30 last night after doing a bunch of trial and error. So if anybody ever has this problem check your EVAP solenoid. Mine was staying closed and building up pressure.

I had the same problem on Saturday and I did the samething you did and ended up with gas all over me. After I pushed the rod down my tank and released the pressure it took gas fine. was there anything you did to fix yours to stop it from doing it again? Did you replace it?

Yeah, I went to ABC auto parts and bought the EVAP solenoid and put it on. It was only like $23.00.

Easy to install, Open your hood and on the right side of the intake is that black plastic solenoid.
The plug is usually red. It basically lets the tank vent into your intake from what I can tell.
