Fuel System Help ASAP
Four days ago I threw a code (P0440 I believe). I paid it no mind and cleared it. I figured it was the gas cap thing again. Well, tonight I was finishing up the install of my NX wet kit and I noticed the fuel line that connects to the Fuel Tank Evaporator Control module was broken. I have never looked at the fuel system closely, but it looks to me that this line doesn't actually supply fuel. It looks like it's part of the EGR system. Two questions:
1. What does that module do?
2. Is it safe to drive with it broken?
I ghetto fabricated it with superglue and zip ties until I can replace it. That doesn't seem to be working too well though. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" /> I started the car and no codes were thrown. That evap module was ticking like an s.o.b though. The part number is 1997278 if that helps.
Please help!

Re: Fuel System Help ASAP
If I am thinking of the same part you are it is the pure valve soleniod.if you unplug it it should set that annoying gas cap code. All it does is sucks the fumes out of the gas tank for epa stuff and burns them. safe to drive with out it.

Thanks rich. That's exactly what I thought. I just wanted to be sure since I was unfamiliar with that part. I ordered a new one. It should be here in a few days.
