Default Opinions wanted on fuel pump access.

Here are some pics of my fuel pump access door that I put on my car after I cut the hole. What do you guys think??

That's a great idea

Looks like an electrical box cover?? It sure beats the 50 screws I used to hold down my access plate.

Is the cover frame itself sealed in any way to the sheet metal of the car? If not, only improvement I would make is to permanently seal the cover frame to the car & install some sort of gasketing around the hinged lid so that it is sealed better when closed.

Innovative idea though - makes for even easier access!

I was in a hurry when I put it on there yesterday. I plan to take it back off this weekend and put a bead of silicone around the lid. I also plan on putting some foam tape around the hinged lid.

I am interested in knowing the source for the door as well.

Looks like a junction box cover?

Wow, that looks like an awesome solution to keeping that hole in the floor closed and sealed. As long as that door does not rattle and you can seal it that should work. I did not cut a hole into my floor yet because I am not sure how I would close it back out. Don't want any fumes finding their way back into the car.

That initial comment was directed at another thread, but still holds true here I guess. I'm using 4) 4-40 screws in the corners and Ultra Black silicone to hold it down and sealed.
