Gas Gauge does not work. Period.
well, my gas gauge has not worked since i bought the car. Its pegged way past full and does not move. the previous owner put in a Walbro 255...if that matters.
I guess it appears there is a level sensor that is probably bad? Any write ups on how to install something like that once the tank is dropped?
but with that said we all know the stock fuel gauge sucks. im thinking about getting one from autometer and rigging it up. how would i be able to do this? and would it read accurate?
--i assume fix the problem in tank, then pull the wire connector that goes into the cluster and splice into the fuel wire??

The first thing to check is your connection to the sender. Your symptoms indicate an open circuit. The gauge pegs full when resistance >= 88 ohms. Here's a link that might help you, especially since it appears you have a 95 Z28. You will want to read the entire section because it describes how to test your fuel gauge wiring. Good luck and let us know how you make out.
