Symptoms of a Bad Fuel Regulator

Ok I know it's happened to people on here, can someone tell me what the symptoms of a bad fuel regulator are??? I have searched and I'm not getting any conclusive information.

For me, my fuel pressure guage read 70psi so I ended up putting an adjustable regulator... What pressure you at? If you dont know, get one and tap into the rail to make sure.
