Default 30# vesus 42# injectors

I hate having to ask this because I know it just screams "" hit the search button", but I cannot find a clear answer through searching so far.

My set up is about 420 rwhp or 520 bhp. I'll be doing more upgrades in the future (FI, say a year or two down the road at earliest with maybe 7#), so I am wondering if it is wise to build for the future with bigger injectors now, or to go with what is optimum today, and then upgrade again in the future.

30# sounds about right currently for me (depending on who you ask - some say 42# is better, based on the math at 80%), but I'd need to obviously upgrade later. General consensus seems to says this is optimum.

42# would allow me some good expansion, but will it be too big for now? I get the implication from some posts that it may not be as easy to tune at idle. In my opinion, I don't want to build for the future if its just going to be a pain for now. Based on RC's web site basic formula, 42# would seem to be a safe size.

Thanks in advance.

I got 42 and no problem witht the tune. I saw no difference with the 42 and stock as far as idle. Go 42.

Thanks. Your set up is pretty close to mine. Did you tune yourself?

i have no where near the mods as you. i have only longtubes and lid with dual cutouts and a dry shot. i went with 42lbers and they work great. idle is perfect. get the 42s.... better to be on the safe side.

Again, thanks. Glad to hear its not a concern.

Talking to sponsors, I decided to order the 42# injectors. Plus a new fuel pump while I was at it.

42's all the way, they dont cause any minimum pulsewidth issues, even on a mild bolt on car.
