High Imp (high resistence across the injector with a ohm meter ~12-14ohms) is driven by the stock ECM.

Low Imp (low resistence across the injector ~5 ohms) is driven by a converter box or aftermarket ECMs.

Because of the lower impedence, the injector draws more current & therefore has more power to open the injector faster, resulting in better fuel control.

Most large injectors are low impedence. Due to the larger physical size of the injector internals, they require more power to open them quickly.

This extra current draw can damage high impedence injector drivers/computers, hence the reason to use an impedence converter or an aftermarket computer.

There is a lot more detail to this, but basically a brief overview.

so if I get high imp 60's I need a converter for them, or can you run low imp with the stock ECM?

Stock is high impedence.
Using a low impedence injector would require a convertor.
