Thinking of converting the 98 car over to a plastic tank
Will I have an issue with the increased fuel flow volume of the v8 pump if I install a stock fuel pump from a 99+ car into a V6 98 with intentions of doing the swap (ls1) this winter?
I know that sounds kinda noobish, but I dont really know how the fuel systems differ between the two year/models

Depending on your power needs, your existing pump may be fine. The difference is the fuel regulator between v6 & v8. If I remember correctly, the v6's all have front mounted regulators.
Personally I would keep the 98 setup if you eventually plan on a high HP application. It has a better pump location suitable for hard acceleration.
The best way to do your swap is to add an adjustable front mount regulator to your LS1 motor when you install it.
