Default Mini-Spool and 4.10's in 10-bolt? Yes or No?

Hey i was wondering if putting a mini-spool and 4.10's in my 10 bolt would be worth it? I was told that the mini-spool replaces the spider gears and that is the weakest part of the 10-bolt... this true? I know a spool isnt the greatest for the street but its mostly a track car. So if indeed i did put the mini-spool and the 4.10's would it make my 10-bolt stronger or weaker? btw the car gets raced atleast 2 or 3 times a month at the track with ET streets

Thanks!

I'm eventually planning on either a 9in or 12 bolt but can't come up with $2500 for a strange 12 bolt right now, so iam seeing what i can do to beef up my 10-bolt a little to maybe survive one more season. Thats why iam lookin into a mini-spool being i was told it replaces the spider gears...

It will most likely just start breaking axles or shattering pinions if you put a spool in it..

Its pretty hard to find a spool for a 28 spline 10 bolt. If it was me i would spool it if i didn't have the money. On all the rear ends i have broke the posi goes first, and its not worth $400 for a new posi. Where are you planing on getting the spool? Your going to need an open diff to to put one in. Setting up a rear end right will go a long way in longevity, no wheel hop will help to. If your car is an auto You have a pretty great chance on it holding up for a while with a spool.

Whatever you do, dont get a TruTrac. My just let go last week and has been nothing but a headache for me. I went back to a Auburn Pro with 4.10s. I dont race at the track that much so it should hold for awhile.

I wouldn't put the $$ in it, put that aside for the 9'in or the 12 bolt imo....

if its an auto yes i would try it. If its a manual i don't think i would waist my money unless you really roll the clutch out good, but wheres the fun in that?
