Default Midwest 9" install underway..

thought i would share some pics of the new 9" going in at the moment. i am having a local mechanic do the install, and we are just waiting to fix one small issue with the axles moser sent us before he can get it on the ground. So far the fitment looks pretty good with everything, but when it comes off the lift we will know for sure. pics:















what is new:

9"/driveshaft/ full torq arm
options:
31 splines, tru trac, 3 channel abs
strange center section, backbrace


koni 4/3 shocks/ strano springs
umi phb/ lca's
removed longtube headers, new exhaust

Is the exhaust as close to the trans mount as it looks like in the picture?

do you mean the second to the last pic? it goes right under the torque arm, i'd say it comes closer to that than the trans mount

almost done!






going for a smog, so i had the stock Y and stock cats swapped in... as soon as she's sniffed, the ORY goes back on!

Looks good! You may have to clearance the floorpan brace that sets above the upper T/A mount, its no big deal. I have the Strano Springs and if you have a passenger or hit a large bump it may hit. Mine did, but its an easy fix.

^^ thanks for the heads up.. so far its not hitting, but after some driving we'll see what happens. anyways, the mechanic got it all finished up today after some axle and bearing trouble. I got to drive it and wow, what a difference! Those koni shocks are a huge improvement over stock...

Looks good, fits well with the rear mount turbo also.
