Default 2000 ws6 m6 what gears?

first of all i wanted to ask someone in this forum if they know what happened. I have a 2000 ws6 m6 with 60,000 miles on it and a factory gm 10bolt. I cleanly snapped off a carrier bolt like 2 weeks ago. Just to say it didnt ruin the ring gear are anything but a couple scrapes in the housing. And now was thinking this would be a good time to change out gear set up if i want. So my question is, does anyone know if u have to shim differently if i would go to 3:73s are not i have 3;42s now and i know thats not a big jump, maybe anyone have any recomendations on what to do?

in order to change gear ratio you have to have the rear set up. try a search on setting up gears in a 10 bolt if you've never done it before. but imho save your money or if u can upgrade your rear now. i wasted alot of money breaking my 10 bolt 3 times when my car was dead stock before i got the 9"

Just save up and get a Moser 9 inch or 12 bolt whatever you perferr.. Just give me the money if you want to throw it away because you are throwing away you money fixing a 10 bolt.

I agree with TrackBird, don't waste your money on a rearend that won't hold up. Save your money for a 9" or 12 bolt and be done with it.
