Default The Thud!

Need some advice on this banging sound coming beneath the car guys.

--------
When the car isn't moving I can shift freely and there is no sound. As soon as I start to roll forward there is a loud thud when shifting. Its only makes the thud into 1st, 1st to 2nd, or into reverse. All other gears are quiet as a mouse.

I just recently replaced the pinion seal, maybe something got messed up?!
WTF seriously?

not hard at all you can get a polyurethane one or a factory rubber one. as long as you can safely get your car up high enough off the ground were u can maneuver underneath it. you will see its just under the tail shaft housing on the trans right were the drive shaft goes in. its held on by 2 bolts to the trans and 1 18mm bolt to the crossmember loosen up the big nut to the crossmember raise you trans up with a jack slightly with a peice of 2x4 so you dont damage the pan and then loosen the 2 bolts holding it to the trans then swap out the parts and install should be reverse or removal...have fun...should take you no more then 30 mins

You could go ahead and change your torque arm mount at the same time, but that takes a little longer and you have to grind or drill out the factory rivets to remove the rubber from the mount. Beyond that I wouldnt mess with anything that wasn't broken.
