Default best brand of gears
just looking for some input on what brand of gears people like more lookin at 3.73s

I installed 4:10 over 60,000 miles ago, haven't broke yet. At the time everyone recommended GM Motive or Superior (different names, same mfg's). I have Superior gears and used Royal Purple gear oil, changed about every 10,000 miles.

I think the install is the key though. Make sure who ever installs understands setting proper backlash and such.

Im not sure what GM motive is but Genuine OEM AAM gears are the way to go.

I have the Motive Plus gears, lighter and stronger than the standard Motive gears

i just had a set of AAM 3.73's installed and there nice and quiet.great for a daily driver

i had 3.73 sumit brand started whyning but i think it was the guy who installed them. Im getting new ones motives but cant decide if to stay with 3.73 or get 3.90?
What do you guys think>

3.90's wont work with the stock rear, unless u already have an aftermarket one

Almost certin Summits gears are made for them by Richmond. The markings are identical but the box is plain white.

Sorry, But the 3:90's will work in a stock 7.5 rear, Because i had them in mine. But that's with the factory Thorson pos. unit. That came in my 2000 WS6 Trans Am.

i have yukon 3.73's and i hate them they whine. I am annoyed with noises but I want to keep the 3.73 gear ratio nebody adding to the list on the best ones and how much i will prob pay?
