Default Midwest fabb'd 9's, Whats the concencus on weight savings over the 10 bolt?

Well Reading my title I know the fab 9 will weigh a lil more than a 10 bolt. But what are some general figures. I will be running, a fab 9 with back bracing strange aluminum center section, 35 spl axles and a detroit locker. Im sure weights are somewhere in that billion page long thread.

Any ideas,
Thanks Erik

Midwest Chassis bolt-in braced housing... 59#
Moser/Strange 31 spline solid axles 39#
Strange aluminum case/Pro suppport/Detroit Locker 57#
i believe the 98-02 brakes are about 10 #

total... 165 pounds

stock gm 10 bolt with backing plates and aluminum T/A cover is right at 160#

there ya go...

if you were to do a spool and 35 spline gun-drilled and lightened flange axles it gets down to about 150 pounds.

Sounds like with the spool I want I will be bulletproof and actually LOSE weight! HIGH FIVE! Due to pricing and available torque arms I think I'm giving up on the M9.

Now if only I could get a return mail on my requested price quote I emailed them last week?

When I priced Eric's stuff vs any other rear, his was the best and it seems to me the highest quality. Plus he's awesome and helps with everything.

M9 is nice but no reason not to get a midwest 9. Comes with everything as long as you have a little patience. Great price for the product.

My H-case(nodular iron) with spool weighs 66lbs. I thought that was heavy but seeing what the aluminum weighs with a diff, that ain't too bad. Just have to see what the 35 spline gun drilled axles weigh to know my total.
