This is serious! Rear end?????????????
Ok I wasnt planning on it but it looks like i might be selling a couple of my sleds(snowmobiles) tomorrow, and I want to buy a complete new rear end to handle my power plus any future upgrade! Im going with 4.10s/4.11s so thats not what I want to know. 9in? S60? How much $$$$???????
Street/strip car dont want gear noise!!
Let me Hear your thoughts?
BTW eventually this car will be FAST! Should run 11 spring maybe 10s by fall and faster when I can afford it
Thanks

i'll throw in a vote for midwest chassis 9". just installed mine and i'm very happy with it so far. i dont have any personal first hand experience with other non-stock rear ends, but i think any setup will run around $3k plus/minus depending on options.

Id go with a 9", 12 bolts are kind of notorious for gear whine, S60s are heavy. I reccomend the Midwest 9", comes with a new torque arm, trans mount, the housing is lightweight and the quality is great. Mine just arrived.
With the Moser 9" you wouldnt have the short wait you have with a Midwest, but if you factor in the price of a new torque arm the price is pretty close and the Midwest is only a couple pounds heavier than the 10 bolt.

my S60 whines a little on accel/decel around 35-40 mph but you'll never hear it on the highway
got mine for about 2700 shipped with chromoly driveshaft, true trac, 3.73, 35 spline axles and new reluctor rings and backing plates....would have been cheaper if I had used the stock stuff but it was a direct bolt it

I would get a 9 inch and preferable a light-weight, stronger, fabricated 9 inch. I don't think you will find a better deal than Midwest Chassis can offer. Are they all caught up on their production so there is not several weeks waiting?
