Default 3:23's/RPM's

I have a 02' SS with an A4. I bought it from a dealership, so I don't know who the previous ower was. It runs fine and everything, but my question is, does 2300 RPM's sound right at 70 MPH for a 3:23? Thanks.

Check the inside of your door, the sticker with a bunch of numbers on it

If you find ... GU5 - then you have 3.23
... GU2 - 2.73

I'm not exactly sure, I know that with 3.73's im around 2800-3k at 70

That doesn't sound right to me.In my stock 3.23 geared car I'm just a tad over 2,000rpm at 70mph....2,100 or so.You might have 3.42's,which normally came on M6 cars. All A4 SS's should be 3.23 though.

Your rear,or at least the gears may have been replaced at some point.

sounds a little higher than my ss.. i run right at 2k at 70 with 3.23s.. could possibly be different tires or something like that, or maybe my car runs low rpm..

all SS autos came with 3.23s. for the record, with your converter locked its 2K at 68 mph.
