Default 3.42 - 2.73 ? differance in Camshaft ?

Hi all well just wondering my car pulls great with my new 227 Camshaft
1st will burn tires easly and second pulls like a monster but here is the Q.
now that my engine pulls good with that Cam how would it do if I was to put back my 2.73 gears in?
would it still pull hard sence this cam has good torque?

Go deeper or leave the 3.42s. Dont even think about the 2.73s unless you are only in it for stop speed runs. Is there a reason you are considering it?

you would be riding on your stall too often I think and you would definitly loose performance. I vote NO on this question.

Only reason would be the Low RPM on the highway.

I drive 50 miles daily and its pretty much all highway.

I did have the 2.73 gears on my old set up but the Camshaft had more duration and the power band was higher but it was alot slower with the 2.73 compare to my 3.42.....

but I was just thinking sense my new Cam has good pull from pretty much idle up to 6000

Go 3.23's if you wanna save a little. I would stay with the 3.42's though because they IMO are about right for an auto.

Yeah I agree with you all, I did the swap before and didn't like the power loss
it made a big differance But, i did like the low RPM on highway.
but i'm going to leave it alone, it move good why mess it up and be sorry later when I get on it.
thanks guys for helping me make up my mind.

Yes, I would keep what you have. Won't make up enough of a difference to recoup the price of a gear change.

Yup, leave it be. I have 3.50's in my setup, and was going to switch to 3.89's, but the 3.50's are setup good, and they will get good gas mileage on the highway.
