Need 3.73s for series 2 carrier
I am going to be putting in a stall and some gears pretty soon. I already have the stall picked out, but I am having an unreal amount of trouble finding a gear set for the series 2 carrier. My car has 2.73s so that's a series 2 carrier right? Anybody know where I can find some and maybe a price range?

No idea, I only have experience with Motive.... they whine, but I think that has to do with the guy who installed them wrong..hahah
Also, if you get the Motive install kit, make sure the pinion seal included is the right one. Apparently somewhere in 99 or 2000 the pinion seal was changed. The one included in the Motive kit was wrong for my car and caused a horrible leak that had to be replaced. I had my rearend taken apart AGAIN over an $8 seal. Not sure if it has been updated in their kit or not...

Richmond is a softer gear, plus they are supposedly noisier.
I need gears too, check out www.neweraperformanceparts.com/

Have one more question. I have found the gears I want on ls1speed.com. I was wondering, do I buy the master install kit and the ring gear spacers cuz I believe they are series three carrier with the install kit or, can I just buy the gears for the series 2 carrier and they will be okay to install?

gears wont necesarily give you more in the 1/4 miles just to let you know.
in my 93Z i went from 3.23 to 3.73 and only gained a tenth in my 1/4 and .25 mph. everywhere else was esentially the same, it just "felt" stronger.

I have heard that a switch from 2.73 to 3.73 can net as much as 3 to 4 tenths off of your et. I know that the stall is the bigger mod, I just figured the 3.73s would go nicely with it.
