Default why get new gears...?

just curious... my current setup I'm spinning my tires through 3rd gear. I've got the stock 3.42's.... why would I do 3.73's or even higher? any point to doing this? everybody's telling me to put in new gears, but if I'm already spinning like crazy, it just doesn't make any sense????

because of the following

a)you shouldn't be spinning "all the way through 3rd" try having less of a lead foot... if you aren't hooking.... why are you pinning the gas pedal? i believe u can get one of those driver mods on ebay now

b)you accelerate faster, and get into your powerband faster

c)should you have the proper suspension and maybe some sort of sticky tire, it would net you a faster et.

Get MT Street Radials first, then get the gears...

Having any amount of power and no traction leads to embarassing losses to slower cars...

Why spend $2-3000 in mods and not grab the proper equipment to make it hook?

Yup I cured my streetability problems w/ a set of M/T drag radials.

agreed sounds like you need some drag radials/driver mod not gears.

damn you guys sure know how to make guy feel like an idiot...

yea... common sense says get drag radials... but as a car I drive on the street fairly often, I don't want a set of tires that last 8k miles...

my suspension is completely done, with the exception of SFC's and adj. PHB... i know i know... i should have gotten those a lonnnnng time ago... UMI 3points will be on the to do list shortly...

I guess I was more or less trying to find an answer other than the common sense tires/suspension mods... didn't know if I was missing something lol
