Default Moser M9 is anyone running one?

I'm just reading up on this moser M9, it says it the same weight as a 10 bolt. How strong is this? And does it use a ford 9 inch third member? I'd like to hear some comments on this rear considering the price seems lower then a 9 inch or 12 bolt.

Yes it uses a 9 inch 3rd member. I am looking at possably getting one but it will be more than a regular 9in once you add in the price of the 3rb member. A moser 9in housing is like 1200 w/axles and the M9 is 1800. You need to remember the 2400 that you are seeing for the moser 9in includes the 3rd member and the 1800 for the M9 does not include the 3rd member.

Yes it's about as light as a 10 bolt
Yes it's very strong, especially if you get the back brace option

and no, it's not cheaper than a 9" or 12 bolt. I'm 99% sure the price you are looking at is WITHOUT the center section. You need to add another 1000-1500 for a center section, depending on what you want.

You might want to look into a Fab 9 though..

here's some reading material.

The price is higher, my $1800.00 price is the price for the housing/axles/torque arm and trans mount. It uses the same third members as any nine inch does. With the optional backbrace it is a very strong rear. Check this video out.

Alright I was thinking it was just the housing. I figured I missed something there.

if you factor in the cost of buying a torque arm and relocate bracket (which the m9 comes with) its not much more expensive than a regular 9in. call midwest!!

^^^What he said. I am not going to knock the M9 but if it was between the regular Moser 9inch and the Midwest setup, not even close. I would not put a regular Moser 9inch in my car for free. Quality/fitiment you name it is horrible. Can't even weld tabs on for the brake lines, they expect you to zip tie them on. That is a joke IMO.
