Rearend upgrade?
Well I'm on my 3rd stock rear end since I bought my car back in 01 =] Funny thing is I broke the rear ends back when my car only had a lid and exhaust...now that I have my bolt ons I havent broken it =] n e ways...Now that I have more bolt ons and a cam....I was wondering if u guys recomend I upgrade my rear end?
My best ET 11.01 with bolt ons and a 150 shot of n20....rear held up pretty good. I recently put a cam in and I'm worrying that with the more power adders I put in....I'm risking breaking the rear. Should my stock rear hold me for expected 10sec ETs? Or should I upgrade before I even try? lol =]

10 bolt is just a matter of "when", not "if" it will fail. spend your money once, not twice. if you are a M6 car, then the time is sooner than a A4 car. the auto's are much easier on the drivetrain parts, but the 10 bolt will eventually fail no matter what.
if you are looking into suspension parts as well, the Midwest Chassis & Performance fabricated 9 inch rearend is by far the best choice out there. there are several good rerarends on the market, but if you see much of any track time, the 9 inch is the way top go.

It may hold for a little while. I got mine to 10.54@136mph but that was not launching hard and spinning when I hit second. I guess the other question is do you have a auto or M6. With the auto it will last longer than with the M6. But if you are questioning it and you want to launch the car hard. I would upgrade. My new Fab 9 should be here in 2 weeks
