10 bolts suck!!!!!! (pic)...Help

10 bolts suck!!!!!! (pic)...Help so yesterday i was driving and got on it about 75% in first gear and i didn't speed shift or anything then i hear a horrible noise that sounded like a flat tire so i pull over and look at the tires and nothing is wrong so i get back in and try to turn around right where i pulled over then all of a sudden....BOOM! and then the car wouldn't move... so i get it towed home put it in the air today and crawl underneth it and see this......
can anybody tell WTF happened???? i have yet to pull the diff cover to look inside..... please help i don't know the first thing about differentials....
P.S. sorry for the crappy cell phone pic it's all i had....

Sorry too hear of your bad luck....very common in these cars. I agree just pull the rearend and upgrade to a 9"...Midwest Chassis makes one hell of a nice rearend. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

looks life what happened to my friends T/A. he went through 2 covers before he realized what really hapened. the posi-unit snapped but stayed in place. the vibration caused the bolts to come loose after a few miles.

Same thing happened to me. One of the bolt heads sheared off of the posi and it decided to try and make its escape by sawing through the rear cover. Mine was still driveable though and I didn't feel like staying in the crappy neighborhood it happened in so I drove it. The whole way to my buddy's place it sounded like the end of the world was taking place in the back of my car but it made it.

Yeah what he said...after my hubby blew up his 10 bolt both times at the track (M6 car)and towing the car home both times..we gave up, crashed and burned and bought a Ford 9 inch with 4.11 gears..you M6 guys torpedo the 10 bolts all the time and they are POS anyways...worthless...
