Strange or Moser 12 bolt rear end?
I just trashed my 10 bolt but dont want to rebuild it and have it happen again. So, I am looking to upgrade. I know it is a lot of money, which I dont have but it will be worth saving anyways. Just dont know what brand to buy. I really dont want a 9'', so I have been looking at some 12's. Just looking for some opinions and advice on what to buy? I just want it to be right when I buy and put it in. Where is the best place to buy a 12 bolt, considering free shipping, price, and customer service? Thanks!

I vote Strange as well because of the poor TA bolt setup. I see alot of issues lately with Moser rears having weird vibrations as well on this forum. I can't help you with the point of purchase. I bought mine in 1998 from TByrne Motorsports, had it in 3 cars and it hasn't skipped a beat yet. Good luck,

After a 5000 rpm clutch dump in a street race, my 10 bolt is pissed at me too. I can hear the damn thing whining over a 1000 watts of stereo! hahaha After all I've read and seen, seems the Strange 12 bolt is the way to go. Just looks right under the car too. So that is the way I am going toend up going.
Does anyone know if Strang offers options on thier carrier units?

I would not get too ate up with popular opinion from people wanting to spend your money. We have a Moser 12 in an NHRA Stock Eliminator Camaro and know plenty of others with the M12's as well. They launch like a rocket with 4.88 and 30x9 wrinkle walls and pull the front wheels up past the 60 foot mark to go through the traps in the 10's. Both Strange and Moser 12 bolts are more than capable of holding up.

Again, depending on who you talk to. We purchased an M12 direct from Moser last year for $1950. A few years before that we purchased a M60 for a 71 Cuda Stocker we are building. I think it was $1750 at the time. The prices go up about $100 every year. Hopefully this phase of deflation we are in will bring the prices on stuff back down to what it was a few years ago.

With the stock hardware like those chump nylon lock nuts most TA suppliers send...maybe? I replaced the nuts/bolts that came with my TA and used good grade 8 stuff and LocTite. Never had an issue. Why are people having the bolts back out - are they not tight or what??

I have a moser 12 bolt and i haven't had problems with the torque arm bolts yet. But whenever I've got the car in the air I do always check them. But honestly if I was gonna buy another rear for my car I would get a midwest 9in. I think they have the best lca bracket. Its got like 5 holes to choose from. Much more adjustablity, and you are able to really fine tune the car.

I am in the market for another 12 bolt. Stock width, spool, 4.56, 3 chan ABS, standard bracketry, standard cover etc. I have a Moser 12 I got from Moser last Dec with 33 spline axles, spool, 4.88, alum cov, custom width for $1950 delivered. I will likely have another order in for this latest rear soon, so if you can compete, drop me a PM.

My prices for a Moser 12 bolt with a spool start at $2350.00 shipped. I know what I average on a sale of one of these rears, whoever sold you that rear last year with the alum cover and shipped lost their ***. Bob

I know it sounds crazy, but I had a set of lawn mower blades treated last year. At the end of the mowing season the blades still held an edge like I had just sharpened them that day. Pretty impressive considering I was having to re-sharpen them about every 2 months or so before the treatment...estate lawn care gig so I have to have these things razor sharp to get the grass to lay the way I want for stripes.

Might be because of my tax number (no taxes). I will see if they can come close to that for this one. If not, I have been toying with the idea of cryogenic (sp?) treating a 10 bolt ring and pinion to see how that holds up. I know one guy in NHRA Super Comp that is doing this with a Chrysler 8 3/4. He went from going through a ring and pinion twice per season, to the same one lasting for 4 years now.

No sales tax if ordered from out of state.
The treatment sounds very interesting. Bob
