Gear selection, M6 LT-1 Formula
I'm replacing a bad rear end in my 95' LT1 Formula 99K on the clock). It's a 10 bolt, M6 with the stock 3.42s. It's not driven more than 2000 miles a year, mostly rural city with a few trips here and there.
It's bone stock (and will remain that way), and won't be drag/street strip raced. I'm just looking to liven it up a bit and wanted opinions from people who have gone to 3.73s and 4.10s.
I'm under the impression that going to a 3.73 won't net me a real noticeable difference but 4.10 is the sweet spot. I'm curious to the driveability (not mileage) and the fun factor mostly.
I want to go with the 4.10s but i've read other threads about blowing up the backend (weak 10 bolt reputation) and I don't have the cash to repair the rear end every year.
Any opinions?

4.10s don't leave a lot of room to grow as far as trap speed in the 1/4.. I think 6500 rpm in 4th with 4.10s is like 122mph.
I went with 3.73s and it was a BIG difference, woke the car up big time, are very very quite, and leave room to grow.

Thanks for the responses. The car will never see a track as long as I own it, and it doesn't usually see interstate type driving often, so it's looking like 4.10s for me.
