3:73 gears changed my speedometer. i installed 3:73s in my rear and my speedometer is ten miles an hour off. i found out the hard way. i got pulled over going 76 in a 55 and i thought i was going 66. luckily the cop gave me a verbal warning cuz i told him that obviously my speedo was off because i told him when i saw him i looked at my speedo and i was going 66.so how do i fix this?

FAIL...
Unless you changed from 4.10's or something, the speedo is going to show you going FASTER than you actually are.
So if your speedometer was reading 66, you wouldve been, in reality, going 56. Not 76.
There are a LOT of threads about this too, btw...

then what are some things that could have went wrong then cuz it only showed up after i did the rear as far as i no anyways i guess it could gave always been that way but i just hadnt got pulled over. but i dunno any suggestions.

You need to buy a $300 tuner,like a Diablo tuner like I did..You can change tons of stuff..My car shift like a champ after I programmed it to shift quicker..I put 3:73's in my car also and Diablo tuner fixed it in a matter of mins..

i have a diable tuner to for, what i thought would fit my car, cuz i actually have a 94 v6 shell that has been converted over to a 2000 ls1 car almost everything but i have a obd1 and it wont work the obd4 hookup or vice versa.

May I ask, what gear ratio did you have before the swap? I "believe" I have 3.73's, but I'm M6, and my speedo is off by 4+MPH. I got nailed doing 74 in a 65, but my speedometer was right on 70 the whole time, and bam, lite me up like a christmas tree.
