Factory Freak 10 bolt guys come in!
Ok first of all let me throw this caveat out there lol, I know that 10 bolts suck, I know they break on stock hp with street tires etc etc so I do know the risks .
I am trying to stretch the budget a little bit this summer and trying to do the top end, full bolt ons etc and then 9" later this summer or early next spring before I even drive the car out of storage. All and all my car should see hopefully 450+rwhp through the stock 10 bolt and stock 3.42's so my question is how much did you throw at your 10 bolt before it finally went?

I'm pushing about 410 rwhp with an M6 car. I never got a chance to "officially" track run, but I do street race. My 3.42 10 bolt lasted all of about 4 good launches before shelling out. Good news is that it DID get me home before completely giving up the ghost. hahaha
There have been a few knowledgable guys here who have said "build your car from the chassis up". I'm kinda leaning toward that school of thought now.

I have been running 430rwhp & 396rwtq on drag radials for the past year with ZERO problems. Prior to that 380rwhp 370rwtq for 5 years.. I have run 3.90's, 4.10's, 4.30's in the 10bolt. The only set that "broke" where the 4.10's... chipped a couple teeth on the ring gear which I blame on a poor setup by a local shop. I had the 4.30's and then the 3.90's installed by a sponser, Futral MotorSports and have had no problems.
I have made 8 passes running at 565rwhp 585rwtq with a best of 11.13 @ 130 on a 1.84 60'.... this was with a 125shot at full weight on a 275/40 17" Nitto DR
The 10bolt will hold up well if you are a "Smooth" driver......
I do plan on upgrading the rearend

I have 400rwhp with plenty of drag launches with street tires and M6. I think if I went to slicks I might be pushing my luck. But right now I have a 9in sitting in the garage waiting to go in so my 10 bolt will never break

Haha well I did have M/T ET Street DR's on it about a year ago for a couple of bone stock passes and both the clutch and rear seemed to be begging for mercy so I swapped the tires back lol....I am at least going to leave the 10 bolt on there for the big dyno number

i cut 1.45s on mine but i was A4, i know a guy with a 6 speed bolton car cutting 1.6's on slicks and know several other buddies that have cut 1.4s. Between probley 5or 6 of us none have broken a rear end. the 10 bolt isnt as bad as its thought to be you just have to know how to treat it and set it up.

With BFGs DRs I tried launchin with the bottle a bunch of times ON THE STREET, not on a prepped track, and that is somewhere around 450hp launchin at 2300-2700rpm, ALOT!!! and no whin, grind, issues, but I am putting 4.10s in now, and taking my time to shim it right, I am in the same boat, HOPING that the rear holds up till I can afford a Moser 9, or maybe a dana 60.. which ever

so....factory freak guys....does the TA 10 bolt girdle cover actually help? or will it just be a 1 time assist to get home if that? haha. looking to be about 400rwhp after cam only install *bolt ons already*, saving for 9" anyway, just prefer not to have her puke on me while going 3 digits on the freeway.
