i know this has been talked about a million times , but how do you guys like the 3.42 in your cars ? have you seen any improvement in your E.T. , 60ft's , and driveability with a 220-228 cam range and 3000+rpm stall ?

I put a 3.42 rear in the car with a stock a4 and convertor and love it. When I build my 9" I will jump to a 3.73, but the 3.42's work great and are a cheap upgrade you can normally find for sale. I picked up 3-4 tenths from that change alone.

i don't know if my set-up would get that much from them or not , but i'm sure they should be good for at least a tenth and hopefully 1-3 mph more on the top-end......maybe...if i'm lucky thanks Racer383.

If they had a 4.56 for the 10 bolt, I'd give them a try!

I like it, 3.42 over 2.73, good shift points and only lost 1-2 mpg on the highway. Anything more radical (4.56 lol) would be difficult to manage.
