Who can help me find out what size my stock gears are???
Ok, so I would know this, except that I had my passenger door replaced due to bad drivers. So I don't have the sticker that tells me what I have.
I've heard that if you have first gear marked on the console you have 3.23's.
If not, you have 2.73's. I'm not sure if this is true or not.
My console does not show first, however I am able to forcibly shift and hold it into first.
This is on a 1994 4L60E LT1.
I'm going to get either 3.73's or possibly 3.90's.
Any Ideas?

Ryan, Did you read the whole post? the sticker that had the info is no longer on the car. I've checked the driver's and GB, nothing there.
Steve, even if i find out, we're still doin that to be on the definate safe side.

Easy way to tell is to look at your drive shaft, is it rusted?, if so, it is a steel driveshaft and you have 2.73:1 rearend gears. If the driveshaft is not rusted, you have an aluminum driveshaft which came with all the 3.23:1 rearend gears.

Can't always tell by the RPO code, mine came with 2.73's and changed to 3.42's. Something easy to try is a calculator like www.f-body.org/gears/ Driveshaft could've easily been swapped over the years too.
