crazy noise comming from the car after a gear swap.
new bearings, spool, and gear, same case.
car never made this noise before.
sounds like an alternator is going out, or i have a small blower on the car while cruising down the street.
seems to do it around 50mph and higher.
my thoughts are a bearing, but ive never heard a bearing sound like this.
usually more of a pitched whine. this is intermitant, but does it constantly.
its kinda weird.
any opinions?

no whine anywhere.
more specific... when im traveling down the road, it sounds like you are listening to a car with a vortech supercharger idling in a parking lot.
id get it on vid, but it would be useless.

gear whine.

bad bearings make more of a low pitch off balanced roll sound, if thats makes any sense.

it gets louder with speed right?

no gear whine except on deceleration. this noise im experiencing is way different.
it does not get louder, it just shows up around 50mph.
its a strange one, thats for sure.
